Mr John Massey, Chairman and Non-executive Director

John Massey became a full-time independent company director in December 1997, offering extensive and broadly-based commercial experience, leadership and strategic development skills developed over many years as a chairman, director and chief executive spanning different industries. He has led successful performance and corporate change, both in Australia and internationally, including Grainco, QDL Pharmaceuticals, Thomas Cook Financial Services and Travel, and Safcol Holdings.
John graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, is a Certified Practising Accountant and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. In 2006 he was made a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors in recognition of his "eminence in the field of directorship and distinguished service to the Institute", including being a former National Director and Queensland President.
John's current appointments include being chairman of ASX listed companies Ventracor Limited and Cardno Limited.
Dr. Mark Radford, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

Mark Radford has extensive consulting and leadership experience in both the academic and commercial worlds. Prior to joining Symbiosis, Mark was Professor of Behavioural Science at Hokkaido University in Japan. Previously, Mark was Director (Asia-Pacific) for an international consulting firm based in Singapore providing consulting advice to Fortune 500 companies around the world. In 1998, Mark set up his own business, Miko Associates, providing management and organisational consulting services to both private and public organisations.
Mark has a Bachelors degree with Honours and a PhD from the Flinders University of South Australia. Mark received a Monbusho Scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education enabling him to complete a Doctor of Medical Science from the Nagasaki University School of Medicine, Japan. He is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.
Mark has been involved as either author or co-author of over 50 papers, chapters and books in the areas of medicine, management, leadership, decision making, and cross cultural behaviour.
Mr Andrew Brice, Non-executive Director
BCom, FCA
Andrew Brice is a director and founding member of Wotif.com, an accommodation website, and helps to lead a team of over 95 employees on a global front for Wotif.com. Andrew recognised the potential of the idea to create Wotif.com and played an integral role in the creation of the business. He is responsible for bringing together the initial team of investors to make Wotif.com possible.
Prior to this, he has had a successful career as a Chartered Accountant. During this time he worked as an auditor at the accounting firm Arthur Andersen and went on to build his own accounting practice AH Jackson & Co from a sole trader to a thriving four partner firm.
A graduate of The University of Queensland, with a Bachelor of Commerce, he is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Andrew and his family have strong ties with The University of Queensland that they have maintained for many years.
Mr Ian Johnston - Non executive Director
Dip CM, ASIA, ACIS, FAICD
Ian Johnston is an executive of ABN AMRO Morgans and a member of its advisory board.
Following a career of nearly 25 years in the banking industry, the majority of which was spent in treasury and corporate banking, Ian joined ABN AMRO Morgans (formerly Morgan Stockbroking Limited) in 1988 and is currently Executive Chairman, Corporate Finance.
He has been involved in a significant number of initial public offerings, capital raisings, and corporate transactions.
Ian holds qualifications in Management and Finance and is an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Other directorships include Cardno Limited, The Rock Building Society Ltd and AAM Foundation Limited.
INVESTMENT COMMITEE
The Investment Committee assesses each investment opportunity and then recommends to the Board whether Symbiosis should invest or not. The Board, which may seek additional advice, makes the final decision.

Dr James Campbell
James Campbell has more than 17 years of experience in scientific research, research management, management consulting and venture capital in Australia and internationally. He is the Vice-President of Operations for ChemGenex Pharmaceuticals, a US-Australian pharmaceutical company that is listed on the ASX and NASDAQ.
Previously, James held research positions at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in France and the CSIRO, and after completing an MBA worked for the international management consultancy Booz Allen Hamilton. James later joined the commercial arm of the University of Melbourne, where he sat on the investment committee of the pre-seed venture capital fund UniSeed Pty Ltd, and was a director of several emerging biotech companies.
Crispin Marsh
Crispin Marsh is a director of Sunshine Heart Inc and Vaporex Pty Ltd, Managing Director of SCP Technology and Growth Pty Ltd, and a director of Australian Biotechnology and Healthcare Fund No. 3 Limited, a Sydney based venture capital fund. He has extensive experience particularly in medical devices and is a qualified patent attorney.
Dr Guy Krippner
Guy Krippner obtained his PhD from the University of Adelaide and completed post-doctoral research fellowships at both Oxford University and the University of Sydney. He is currently Vice-President of Drug Development at Verva Pharmaceuticals.
Guy has had 16 years of experience in synthetic organic chemistry including 12 years as a senior Medicinal Chemist. Previously, Guy was Head of Chemistry at Starpharma where he led a team of skilled synthetic and analytical chemists who collaborated with both commercial and academic partners to develop dendrimer based drug candidates for a variety of biological targets. He has co-authored over 18 publications and is a co-inventor of 10 filed patents.
